Babkin Charters brings the boats, crew and local maritime experience. Chugach Ski Guides brings Merrick Johnston’s personal mountain guiding. Together, we build your trip around the group, snow, weather and access.
The boats provide a comfortable alternative to camping ashore. When conditions and the itinerary allow, ask about an optional paddle after skiing.

Custom spring adventures

February–mid May
Babkin’s published backcountry ski season spans late winter into spring. Ask about your preferred 2027 dates, with timing chosen for snow, weather and your objectives.
Custom duration
Plan a 4–5 day mountain escape or ask about a different length. Babkin offers charters of 1–7 days, subject to availability.
Private groups
Choose the vessel and itinerary that fit your group. Larger groups can inquire about a two-boat arrangement and appropriate guide staffing.
Spring can offer longer days and corn snow, but conditions vary. The captain makes maritime decisions and the guide selects mountain terrain and objectives according to conditions and the group.

Babkin’s ski-charter page lists the following boat-only daily rates and ski-guest capacities. These are reference prices, subject to change and confirmation with Babkin.

Guiding is quoted separately by Chugach Ski Guides. Your written proposal will confirm the vessel, group size, number of guides, trip length, inclusions and final price.
Guiding bookings and applicable guiding authorizations are handled through Alaska Guide Collective. Vessel services are provided by Babkin Charters. Final destinations and activities depend on the applicable authorizations, snow, weather and marine conditions.
